Key Buying Criteria for Dolphin Explorer WiFi Pool Cleaners
When choosing the best Dolphin Explorer WiFi pool cleaner for your home, consider these essential factors to ensure you pick the right model.
Pool Type and Size Compatibility
Before you buy, measure your pool’s length and determine whether it’s above-ground or in-ground. Some models are specifically designed for above-ground pools up to 30 feet, while others handle in-ground pools up to 50 feet. Choosing a robot that matches your pool’s dimensions ensures optimal coverage and cleaning efficiency.
For instance, the Dolphin (2026 Model) E10 is perfect for above-ground pools up to 30 feet, while the Dolphin Explorer E40 is ideal for larger in-ground pools up to 50 feet. Always check the manufacturer’s specifications to avoid disappointment.
Cleaning Capabilities: Walls, Waterline, and Scrubbing
Look for a model that can climb walls and scrub the waterline. Active scrubbing brushes are essential for removing algae and stubborn dirt from pool surfaces. The Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus, for example, features active scrubbing and wall-climbing power, ensuring a thorough clean on any surface type.
If your pool has a tile waterline, consider a model with a dedicated waterline scrubber brush, like the Dolphin Explorer E50. This feature prevents unsightly scum lines from forming.
Filtration System and Maintenance
High-quality filters are crucial for capturing fine particles and keeping your pool water crystal clear. Some models come with ultra-fine filter panels, which are especially beneficial for pools with fine debris. Additionally, a top-load filter basket makes cleaning the filter a breeze—no need to flip the robot over or get your hands dirty.
The Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Wi-Fi includes ultra-fine filters, while the Dolphin Nautilus CC Pro offers a top-load filter for easy access. Choose a model that balances filtration efficiency with maintenance convenience.
WiFi Connectivity and Smart Features
The best Dolphin Explorer WiFi pool cleaners offer robust WiFi connectivity, allowing you to schedule cleanings, monitor progress, and adjust settings from your smartphone. Some models even support voice control via Alexa or Google Assistant. If you value convenience, prioritize models with advanced smart features.
The Dolphin Explorer E40 and E50 both feature always-connected WiFi, enabling you to manage your pool from anywhere. This is a game-changer for busy pool owners who want a consistently clean pool without manual intervention.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a Dolphin Explorer WiFi pool cleaner take to clean a pool?
Most Dolphin Explorer models complete a full cleaning cycle in 2 to 3 hours, depending on the pool size and debris level. The robot’s navigation system ensures it covers the entire pool efficiently, so you can set it and forget it.
Can I leave my Dolphin Explorer WiFi pool cleaner in the pool?
Yes, but it’s not recommended for extended periods. Dolphin recommends removing the robot from the pool after each cleaning cycle to prevent unnecessary wear and tear. Many models come with a caddy for easy storage and drying.
Do I need to run my pool pump while the robot is cleaning?
No, Dolphin robotic pool cleaners are self-contained and operate independently of your pool’s pump and filter system. They have their own motor and filtration, so you can run them without affecting your pool’s circulation.
How often should I clean the filter basket?
It’s best to clean the filter basket after every few cleaning cycles, or when you notice reduced suction. The top-load design makes this quick and easy—just open the lid, lift out the basket, and rinse it with a hose.
