Buying Guide: What to Look for in a Dolphin Caddy
Choosing the right caddy involves more than just picking the first option. Here are the key factors we considered during our evaluation.
Compatibility with Your Robot
Not all caddies fit every cleaner. The Dolphin Genuine Accessory Universal Caddy works with all residential Dolphin robots, including cordless models like the Nautilus CC Plus. However, some third-party covers may have specific size requirements. Always verify that your robot’s dimensions and caddy mount match before buying. For a deep dive on compatibility, check our guide to compatible caddy covers.
Cord and Cable Management
A tangled cable can be frustrating. Look for a caddy with a dedicated cord holder or wrap feature. The Dolphin Universal Caddy includes a tangle-free cable and power supply holder that keeps everything organized. If you already own a caddy but need better cord storage, our best dolphin caddy cable holder can help.
Durability and Weather Resistance
If you store your cleaner outdoors, a cover is essential. The Dolphin Premium Universal Pool Cleaner Caddy Cover is made from heavy-duty vinyl that resists rain, sun, and dust. For an affordable alternative, the PEATOVIE Robotic Pool Caddy Cover uses high-quality polyester oxford fabric. Both options include vents to prevent moisture buildup. Read our aftermarket caddy cover guide for more budget-friendly picks.
Ease of Assembly and Transport
Most caddies come ready to assemble in under 15 minutes. Features like a comfortable handle and wheels make moving the robot from pool to storage effortless. The Dolphin Universal Caddy delivers on this with an ergonomic handle, while bundles like the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus bundle include the caddy and cover right out of the box.
Final Thoughts
After evaluating all 10 products, two options stand out for different needs. For pure simplicity and proven quality, the Dolphin Genuine Accessory Universal Caddy is our top recommendation, it fits every residential Dolphin, organizes cables neatly, and assembles in minutes. If you want comprehensive protection right from the start, the Dolphin Nautilus CC Supreme Wi-Fi Automatic bundle includes the caddy, a weather-resistant cover, and a high-performing robot with Wi-Fi control. Either choice will keep your cordless pool cleaner safe, organized, and ready to use season after season.
